Initial Osteopathy Treatment
Your first appointment is designed to gain a thorough understanding of your health history, current concerns, and long-term goals.

As a manual osteopath in Calgary, I take a whole-body approach to assessment. Osteopathy is a holistic therapy, which means that even if your pain feels localized, the entire body will be evaluated for motion restrictions, asymmetry, compensation patterns, and tissue tension.
This comprehensive assessment may include:
• Global posture and movement patterns
• Joint and spinal mobility
• Fascial and muscular restrictions
• Rib and breathing mechanics
• Restrictions around organs and abdominal tension
• Cranial motion and tension patterns
Pain is often the final expression of a deeper imbalance. For example, low back pain may be influenced by rib restriction, abdominal tension, or altered pelvic mechanics. By assessing the body as an interconnected system, osteopathic treatment aims to address underlying contributors rather than only the area of discomfort.

Gentle, hands-on osteopathic treatment will then be applied based on your individual findings.

Initial appointments are approximately 40–50 minutes, which includes time for reviewing health history and current concerns, hands-on care, and administrative details such as re-booking and payment processing.
Follow-Up Osteopathy Treatment
Follow-up appointments build on the findings of your initial assessment.

We will begin with a brief discussion of any changes, improvements, or new concerns since your previous visit. A focused re-assessment will then be performed to evaluate progress and identify any remaining or new restrictions.
Treatment continues to address:
• Your primary symptoms
• Contributing structural or systemic patterns
• Overall balance and mobility
• Building overall health
Because osteopathy considers the relationship between all systems of the body, follow-up care is not limited to symptom management. The goal is to support long-term improvement, resilience, and overall function.

Follow-up osteopathic treatments are approximately 20–30 minutes, which includes time for a brief discussion and re-evaluation, continuation of treatment, and administrative details such as re-booking and payment processing.
